This Tableau Story is composed of four interactive dashboards built from advanced player statistics sourced from Basketball Reference. Each player was individually ranked on offensive and defensive metrics, and those rankings were aggregated to generate team-level scores. The project highlights all-around MVPs who contribute on both ends of the floor, offensive leaders broken down by guards and bigs, and defensive leaders split between perimeter and interior defenders. The final view showcases team-level rankings derived from player performance, offering insights that go beyond win–loss records. For example, Dallas emerges as stronger than their standings suggest, with Liatu King’s breakout performance underscoring the value of advanced metrics in capturing true team impact. This project demonstrates how Tableau can be used to transform individual player data into broader team narratives while emphasizing the power of data storytelling in sports analytics.
